Kaffe in Spots

Kaffe Fassett,  pictured above in younger days,  is one talented man,  as many of you will concur (no wonder he modelled in some of the earlier Rowan magazines!).  At the moment, the Perth store has an amazing selection of Regia yarn (the Balmain store has some taste teasers too),  designed by Kaffe.

Utitilising both Regia 4 -ply Design Line by Kaffe Fassett & Regia Design Line Hand-dye Effect by Kaffe Fassett, these beautiful creations have come about and are in the booklet that we sell to compliment the yarn.  These yarns also make awesome looking socks!

Hello, divine!

So, pop in, check out the yarn section  and start your way into some Kaffe knitted goodness.

Frost

It's getting chilly over here in Sydney.  Lovely warm autumn days, with crisp mornings and evenings.  Donna's latest knitted project is aptly named Frost to reflect the changing of the seasons and of things to come.  The scarf is  knitted up in Rowan Kid Classic and Kid Silk Haze, all delicate and warm at the same time and available in kit form from the Balmain store.

I had some willing models over the weekend.  Let's indulge them!

Work it Lexi!

My Phoebe wanted in on the action too.  More interested in which magazine she will be in.  She didn't really comprehend that she would need to settle for the shop blog!

This scarf above is knitted in Rowan Wool Cotton.  Has a great feel to it.  Pattern in the Balmain store.

Great Wall of Potholders

One of the truly great things about working at Calico & Ivy, is working with the other girls in the shop.   Nothing like bouncing ideas off each other and encouraging one and other to go forth and conquer the next big project.

One such project that arose recently, was when Kate suggested we make a wall of crocheted potholders.  When she returned the following day with a few she "whipped up", I knew I had to come to the party too.  In fact I think Kate had made all of hers before I had even made one!  And that was just the impetus that I needed to get cracking and complete mine in the recent school holidays.

So, the wall of potholders is now up in Calico & Ivy Balmain.  Pop in and have a look. There are even a few spots still available in our crochet classes in Balmain, if you would like to learn to crochet.
