To Paris With Love & Back Again

Deb and I have just returned from the most fabulous trip, which included a week in Paris, a week in the Dordogne region and four busy days in London.  It was so richly stimulating for me, it's hard to know where to start! And anyone who knows me well, knows that I'm pretty good at a long winded story.

So, with the Sound of Music firmly in my mind (and was to become a bit of a theme song later in the trip), lets start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.. and the first photo off my camera was the delightful little basket of blueberries that we enjoyed for breakfast on our first day.

Aaaa, the macarons!  The stars of many shopfront.  Somehow I've returned to Sydney, not even having one of those little morsels touch my lips.  Lucky Mr Zumbo is just around the corner!

Paris, so chic. The Wynyard sign just doesn't quite compare!

Statuesque doors everywhere, with weathered patina only adding to their grand charm and the intrigue of what is behind.

The finer details of the mouldings on an aged door.  Layer upon layer of paint add to the unctuousness of this understated flower.

Could you visit this city and not marvel at this Grande Dame of a metal structure? Non!  Magnificent from afar and close up too.

I have many, many more photos to share, but I will leave you with this photo and the promise of future posts.  This delightful pathway was the way to our meals for 6 amazing days.  The stairs to gardens that we could only dream of.  The way to a place where we hand stitched and chatted and laughed and sang our way into the lives of each of those that we shared this amazing place with. I will return soon to share.
